What does it really mean to be a man? Behind every expectation is a human being with a story — and on 30 June 2026, at Tea Avenue on Union Place, Unfiltered #06 set out to find some of those stories, gathering an activist and gender expert, a musician, and an award-winning international salsa artist for an evening built around identity, vulnerability and resilience.

A room for men, and for everyone who loves one

The invitation was deliberately broad: whether you're a man, love a man, or are raising one, this conversation is for you. Free admission, and a sponsor — Tea Avenue offering complimentary tea and a discount for the evening — removed any friction between wanting to attend and actually showing up.

What followed was a conversation that treated masculinity less as a fixed identity and more as a set of expectations most men never chose and rarely examine — provider, protector, unshakeable, silent. Panelists spoke about the specific cost of that silence, and what it takes to set it down even briefly, in public, in front of strangers.

Strength redefined
